Despite recent comments from Dana White, whereby the UFC President said Conor McGregor is too small for a third fight with Nate Diaz, the manager for Khabib Nurmagomedov believes the Irish star will challenge for the 170 title next.

White was asked about the possibility of McGregor – Diaz III while appearing on the Michael Kay show. The UFC President shot it down, however, by saying Diaz is “massive”, and that the promotion should probably not have promoted the bouts. Recently Nurmagomedov’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, was a guest on MMA Junkie Radio. While discussing Nurmagomedov’s future, in terms of facing the lightweight champ McGregor, Abdelaziz said this (quote via MMA Junkie):

“Let me make a prediction: McGregor’s next fight is going to be Tyron Woodley for the welterweight title,” Abdelaziz said. “This is the fight that’s going to happen. Every sign is this is going to happen.”

In terms of White’s recent comments, Abdelaziz referred to them as a “negotiating tactic.” McGregor went 1-1 this past year while facing Diaz in welterweight bouts.
