KOTC Champ Bobby Green Signs with Strikeforce, Facing Milton Vieira Aug. 12th

By FCF Staff

King of the Cage Lightweight Champion Bobby Green has signed a contract with Strikeforce.

According to a news release posted on the Iridium Sports Agency website, who represent the fighter, Green’s new four fight deal will get underway on August 12th when he faces recently signed Milton Vieira (12-7-1). The bout will be part of Strikeforce’s Challengers event, which will be hosted by The Pearl at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas. The fight has not been officially announced by the promotion yet.

Green (15-4) will make his promotional debut having won the KOTC belt in his last outing, as the 24 year-old scored a five round, unanimous decision win over Dom O’Grady in April. The Pinnacle Jiu-Jitsu fighter and California resident is 4-1 in his last five bouts, which includes wins over Daron Cruickshank, Charles Bennett and Ricky Legere Jr.

Vieira is coming off back-to-back wins over Davi Cubas and most recently Bruno Lobato, while competing for Bitteti Combat. The 32 year-old Brazilian has also gone 4-1 in his last five fights.

The August 12th Challengers card, which will be broadcast on Showtime, will feature a lightweight bout between Jorge Gurgel and Joe Duarte in the main event.
