Australia’s Gold Coast to Host Event

After nearly a year away from fighting, veteran Krzysztof Soszynski will return to the Octagon on December 15^th and will take on Ednaldo Oliveira at the upcoming UFC on FX 6 event. The card, which will be hosted by Broadbeach, in Australia’s Gold Coast region, will also feature a lightweight bout between TUF: The Smashes coaches George Sotiropoulos and Ross Pearson.

Following Soszynski’s (26-12-1) knockout loss to Igor Pokrajac at UFC 140 December last December, the 35 year-old, light-heavyweight relayed his career may be over. After taking some time to heal up from injuries, however, the former TUF competitor is back.

The loss to Pokrajac came after Soszynski had scored back-to-backs wins over Mike Massenzio and Goran Reljic.

Oliveira (13-1-1) is coming off a submission loss to heavyweight Gabriel Gonzaga at UFC 142 in January. The 6’7 tall, 28 year-old fighter had gone undefeated prior.

The upcoming UFC on FX 6 card will also feature a middleweight bout Hector Lombard and Rousimar Palhares as well as the lightweight and welterweight finals from the Australia vs. U.K. TUF series.
