Legacy FC 12 Results and Highlights: Jay Hierson Scores Controversial Submission Win
Jiu-Jitsu Star Robert Drysdale Moves to 4-0
By FCF Staff
Legacy Fighting Championship held its latest event last night in Houston, Texas, and in the card’s main event, UFC and Strikeforce vet Jay Hieron was awarded a second round, technical submission win over late replacement Romario Da Silva.
The win wasn’t without controversy; however, as Da Silva did not tap-out to the Brabo Choke Hieron was applying, and immediately protested the fight’s stoppage.
The victory was Hieron’s (23-5) first since he departed from Bellator, after losing by split decision to welterweight champion Ben Askren last October.
In the co-main-event, former ADCC champion Robert Drysdale extended his undefeated record to 4-0 by quickly tapping out Isaac Villanueva with a first round armbar.
Here are the results from the AXS broadcast.
Jay Hieron def. Romario Da Silva via technical submission (Brabo Choke) R2, 2:04
Robert Drysdale def. Isaac Villanueva via submission (armbar) R1, 1:29
Noel Ligon def. Artenas Young via unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 29-28)
D.J. Linderman def. Dale Mitchell via TKO (punches) R2, 3:29
Alan Nascimento def. Terry Acker via submission (kneebar) – R3, 3:19
