Leonardo Santos Drops Out of BAMMA 7 Title Fight with Rob Sinclair

By FCF Staff

The British Association of Mixed-Martial-Arts has been forced to do some last minute shuffling to the line-up of the promotion’s seventh event tomorrow night in Birmingham, England, as Leonardo Santos has reportedly dropped out of his lightweight title fight with champion Rob Sinclair. Diego Vital will step in on one day’s notice and will challenge Sinclair for his belt. (Pictured: Sinclair)

According to a post from the promotion on the official BAMMA Facebook page, Santos “refused to fly in to the UK from Paris because he believed he would not be able to make weight and although BAMMA has made every effort to accommodate him and his weight cut, he has still refused to compete.”

Vital (6-1) last competed on August 13th and tapped out Omar Santana while competing for the Elite Tournament promotion.

Sinclair (10-2) has won three straight fights which includes stoppage wins over Nathan Beer and Daniel Weichel while fighting under the BAMMA banner.

Some of the other bouts scheduled for BAMMA 7 include Jim Wallhead vs. Frank Trigg, Paul Daley vs. Jordan Radev, Jason Ball vs. Andre Winner, and Dale Hardiman vs. Scott Jansen.
