Undefeated light heavyweight rising star Lorenz “The Monsoon” Larkin (11-0) will face off with Virgil Zwicker (10-2) in the main event of a Strikeforce Challengers card at The Palms Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sept. 23, according to a press release issued by Larkin’s camp.

The 24-year-old Larkin, a dynamic striker who hails from Riverside, Calif., earned a unanimous decision over Gian Villante at Strikeforce Challengers on June 24.  Prior to the victory on points, Larkin’s had stopped each of his previous seven opponents, including K-1 USA veteran Scott Lighty, whom Larkin scored a second round TKO on with punches Strikeforce Challengers on April 1.

Likewise, the 29-year-old Zwicker was victorious in his last effort, also at Strikeforce Challengers, over Brett Albee by way of first round (1:46) TKO (punches).  Zwicker also holds a notable win over red hot Strikeforce prospect Ovince St. Preux, whom Zwicker TKO’d (punches) in the second round (:46) of a matchup on Sept. 26, 2009.
