M-1 Challenge 58: Igor Fernandes to Face Murad Abdulaev For Vacant WW Title

M-1 Global has announced that the promotion’s June 6th card in Ingushetia, Russia, will feature Igor Fernandes battling Murad Abdulaev for the vacant, welterweight title.
Fernandes (18-6) heads into the bout having won six straight fights, but he hasn’t fought since March, 2013, when he submitted fellow vet, Rudy Bears. The Brazilian welterweight hasn’t lost a bout since 2010.
Abdulaev (14-3), meanwhile, fought at M-1 Challenge 52 in October, and KO’d Daniel Tabera. The Russian fighter is 4-1 in his last 5 fights.
Rashid Magomedov was the previous welterweight champion, but has since signed with the UFC.
The promotion has also confirmed two featherweight bouts for M-1 Challenge 58, as Lee Morrison (13-5) will take on Pavel Vitruk (12-1), and Antun Racic (17-5) will fightTural Ragimov (9-2).
