Malaipet Renews Exclusive Multi-Fight Contract With Lion Fight

LAS VEGAS – Scott Kent, CEO of Lion Fight Promotions, today announced Thai fighting legend and World Muay Thai Champion Malaipet Sasiprapa has renewed his contract with LION FIGHT signing an exclusive multi-fight deal with his Las Vegas-based Muay Thai promotion. Malaipet competes only for Lion Fight and will return to the ring against Shane Oblonsky at LION FIGHT 14 taking place Friday, March 28 live on AXS TV and from the Joint inside Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

“We are pleased to announce that Malaipet has renewed his contract with us and that he fights only for LION FIGHT,” said Kent. “Fans love him for his energy and passion and because every one of his fights are world class displays of Muay Thai. He always delivers an exciting performance, and I’m sure his fight with Shane Oblonsky at LION FIGHT 14 will be no exception.”

I look forward to 2014 and especially to my next fight March 28 in Las Vegas.”

Malaipet is originally from Thailand and started training in Muay Thai at the age of six. He has over 170 professional Muay Thai fights to his record and has also competed in kickboxing and mixed martial arts. He is the current WBC Muay Thai Welterweight Champion and the former Rajadamnoen Champion, IKBA World Champion, IKKC USA Champion, IMTO USA Champion, IMTO World Champion and IKKC World Champion. He last fought at LION FIGHT 12 against Fabio Pinca, the current LION FIGHT Welterweight Champion.

Residing in Fresno, Calif., Malaipet operates his own gym named Malaipet Sasiprapa USA Muay Thai Gym. A film about his life titled Legendary, was released in late 2009.
