Manager Campaigns For “Shogun” Rua-Michael Bisping Bout, Latter is “In”

"Shogun" Rua

Although Michael Bisping is booked to fight CB Dollaway at UFC 186 on April 25th, the middleweight contender has received a rather interesting proposal for an upcoming fight.

Since “Shogun” Rua was quickly taken out by Ovince St.Preux in November, there has been considerable speculation and discussion, as to whether the decorated light-heavyweight should drop down to 185. Rua has lost four of his last five fights, and is coming off consecutive, stoppage defeats.

Rua’s manager, Eduardo Alonso, recently spoke with the Brazilian outlet, Portal do Vale Tudo. According to a follow up report from MMA Fighting.com, Alonso said he’d like to see “Shogun” fight at 195 first, before cutting all the way to 185.

While discussing a possible opponent for the catch-weight bout, Alonso noted that he’d “love” to see his client fight Bisping.

Well, after hearing about Alonson’s proposal, Bisping tweeted the following response:

UFC 186 will be hosted by the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec. Bisping is currently ranked #9 in the UFC’s middleweight division while Dollaway is positioned at #10.
