Marc Goddard Posts Statement Following in Cage Altercation With Conor McGregor
By FCF Staff
Following his latest run-in with Conor McGregor, referee Marc Goddard has posted a statement, relaying that he stands for “integrity” and “values”.
McGregor attended Bellator 187 in Dublin on Friday, and proceeded to jump the cage to congratulate his teammate Charlie Ward, after the latter earned a victory. The fight’s official, Marc Goddard, and others intervened, and a visibly upset McGregor had to be restrained.
Goddard criticized McGregor last month at UFC Fight Night 118, after the latter moved around the outside of the Octagon to coach his teammate, Artem Lobov.
I operate with integrity, belief and values.
I hold MMA in a deep rooted place in my life and have considered myself most fortunate to have done so for so long.
Family first. Everything else second.
Respect.
