The consensus is that Conor McGregor’s days fighting at 145 pounds are over, so Max Holloway‘s considering making a move to lightweight, so he can rematch his former foe.

Holloway and McGregor fought in 2013, and the latter won the bout via decision. Since then, however, Holloway has gone on to win 11 straights and is the reigning featherweight champion. McGregor, meanwhile, has won both the featherweight and lightweight championships since then, but currently he holds the 155 title.

Holloway was said on more than one occasion that he wants to rematch McGregor, and recently he told FloCombat the following:

“Everybody keeps talking about 145, he’s not going to come back to 145, this and that. The whole UFC, even you I heard talking about us fighting at 155. It’s not that far off,” Holloway said. “I’m turning 26, I’m growing, so if that fight happens it’s probably at 55. Don’t forget your boy is Hawaiian and Samoan, I love to eat. Lightweight is not out of the question.”

McGregor is coming off a stoppage loss to undefeated boxing star, Floyd Mayweather in August. It’s not clear yet what bout is next for the Irish star.
