Anderson Silva, the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world, the man who defended his belt 11 times, the man who has not lost since his disqualification against Yushin Okami over seven years ago, will lose his upcoming bout against Chris Weidman, according to fellow title holder Georges St-Pierre.

In a recent talk with SportsNet, welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre gave his opinion on the outcome of Anderson Silva’s upcoming title fight against his teammate Chris Weidman,

“Not only is he going to beat, I believe he’s going to finish Anderson Silva,” “I believe it’s not going to be too long, that fight. People will be shocked.”

Silva (33-4) has not been finished since being submitted by Ryo Chonan in late 2004. He has won his last 17 fights, including a 16-0 run in the UFC.

St-Pierre has familiarized himself with Weidman’s skills lately; he often trains with him under Renzo Gracie in New York.

Weidman(9-0), a former division one wrestling All-American at Hofstra University, is undefeated in his MMA career defeating such notables as Mark Munoz, Demian Maia and Alessio Sakara.

The fight is scheduled to take place at UFC 162 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on July 6.
