MFC 37: Sam Alvey, Luke Harris And Anthony Birchak Among Winners

The Maximum Fighting Championships held its 37th event last night in Edmonton, Alberta, and the card saw Anthony Birchak hand Ryan Benoit a unanimous decision loss in the main event. The bout also marked the first bantamweight fight in the promotion’s history.

Other main card winners included accomplished grappler Luke Harris, who tapped out Jason Zentgraf with a first round rear-naked-choke, and TUF vet Sam Alvey stopped Jay Silva in round three.

Lightweight Kurt Southern scored a first round, submission win via north-south choke over noted striker Mukai Maromo.
