MFC 40: Three More Bouts Booked For May 9th Card
By FCF Staff
The Maximum Fighting Championship has confirmed three more bouts for its upcoming, May 9th event, one of which will feature UFC vet Victor Valimaki.
Valimaki (17-8) has been re-booked to face Sean O’Connell (15-4), who he was supposed to fight at MFC 39 in January. Valimaki dropped out of the bout due to illness, however, and O’Connell went on to stop Markhaile Wedderburn.
The light-heavyweight is currently riding a six fight win streak, while Valimaki hasn’t fought since 2012, when he TKO’d Tim Chemelli. Prior to the win “The Matrix” had lost three straight.
The MFC has also announced two lightweight bouts, as noted grappler Jonatas Novaes (11-5) will face Andrew McInnes (4-1) and Marcus “Bad Intentions” Edwards (6-2) will battle Aaron Gallant (6-5).
MFC 40 will be hosted by the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, and the main card will be broadcast on AXS TV.
