Michael Chandler has a tough assignment ahead of him in Benson Henderson, but Bellator’s lightweight champs says he’d be more than willing to move up and face Rory MacDonald after that.

Chandler is booked to fight Henderson at Bellator 163, which will take place on November 19th in San Jose, California. Recently the well rounded fighter appeared on “The MMA Hour”, and while discussing Bellator’s new addition, the aforementioned MacDonald, Chandler stated (quote via MMA Figthing.com):

“The good thing for me is I think that’s a fight I could have in my future,” Chandler said. “I would definitely step up to 170 and make that fight happen. I want the biggest fights that Bellator has to offer.”

MacDonald’s Bellator debut has yet to be confirmed. The Canadian is not expected to fight again until mid 2017, however, due to a recurring broken nose.

Chandler laid claim to the vacant lightweight title in June by knocking out Patricky “Pitbull” at Bellator 157.
