It didn’t take the UFC long to find a replacement for the injured Eddie Yagin, as the promotion has announced that featherweight vet Nam Phan has agreed to step in and fight Dennis Siver on December 8th.

The need for a replacement arose after Yagin was forced to withdraw to a head injury he incurred while training. According to reports, the vet is suffering from swelling of the brain, however, surgery is not expected.

Phan (18-10) is coming off a split decision win over Cole Miller in August, after dropping a unanimous decision to Jim Hettes last December.

Siver (20-8) will be looking to build on the UD win he recorded over Diego Nunes in April. Before the victory, which marked his featherweight debut, Siver was tapped out by Donald Cerrone last October.

The December 8th, UFC on FOX 5 card will be hosted by Seattle’s Key Arena and will feature a lightweight bout between champion Benson Henderson and Nate Diaz.
