Nick Diaz No Shows At UFC 158 Open Workout

Nick Diaz

By Timothy J. Gilbert

The octagon remained empty as members of the press awaited the presence of Nick Diaz at his UFC 158 open workout sessions.

The welterweight contender never came.

Cesar Gracie, Diaz’s manager, commented on his client’s absence via Twitter, saying he requested that Dana White reschedule the meeting, only to later take it down.

This latest incident only adds to the mounting tension between Diaz and White, the outspoken president of the UFC.

“If he wins, we are seriously going to have to have a come to Jesus meeting,” said White on the Jim Rome Show

Diaz has missed media obligations in the past, but White made it clear that another no-show will be met with force,

“Well, let me tell you what, if he does not show up tomorrow for the press conference, it is not going to be good. I don’t know what I’ll say or what I’m going to do, but I’ll tell you what – it will not be good,” he said.

A seemingly disappointed White then commented on what he will be forced to do if this continues,
“We did this already when we signed his new deal, but I’m going to have to tell him, if you miss anything I will strip you of this title. I don’t know what else to do.”
