Nick Newell has taken a big step towards achieving his UFC dream, as it’s being reported he’ll compete on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series this June.

Newell has been actively campaigning for a shot with the promotion, after he submitted Sonny Luque at LFA 35 last month to move his overall record to 14-1.

Now it’s been reported by ESPN’s Brett Okamoto that the lightweight will get the opportunity to fight for a UFC contract on White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series. In a follow up report from MMA Fighting, the 32 year-old Newell confirmed that he’s been booked for the show.

The only person to defeat Newell, who is a congenital amputee, is former WSOF champ and current UFC contender, Justin Gaethje.

No details regarding a specific date or opponent for Newell’s DWTNCS appearance has been announced.
