By FCF Staff

The Nevada State Athletic Commission has released the final attendance and gate figures for the July 7th, UFC 148 card in Las Vegas, which as expected, was the promotion’s top earning event thus far in 2012.

According to the numbers that have been released by the NSAC, UFC 148 drew a total attendance of 15,104 for a live gate of $6,901,655.  As a result, UFC 148 set the promotion’s record for its biggest gate yet on American soil.

UFC 129 in April, 2011, which was attended by over 55,000 people in Toronto, Ontario, produced a live gate of approximately $12 million.

Of the 15,104 in attendance, 13,606 people paid for tickets while 1,498 received complimentary seats.

UFC 148 was hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena and featured the long awaited rematch between middleweight champion Anderson Silva and rival Chael Sonnen.

Silva went on to win the bout by second round stoppage.
