Heading into UFC 168 most observers believed the December 28th card was going to be one of the year’s biggest, and the Nevada State Athletic Commission has released figures confirming that hypothesis.

According to numbers disclosed by the NSAC Monday, the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas drew an attendance of 15, 650 for UFC 168. 14,574 of those people paid for their tickets, while 1,076 received complimentary tickets.

The highly anticipated event generated a gate of $6,238,792.50 to make it the second highest, grossing MMA card in the state’s history.

UFC 168 featured a rematch between middleweight champion Chris Weidman and former champ Anderson Silva, as well as a rematch between women’s bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate.

Both Weidman and Rousey defended their titles with TKO and submission wins respectively.
