ONE FC has announced that the promotion’s bantamweight champion Soo Chul Kim will return to action on October 18th, and will fight interim champ Bibiano Fernandes. The unification bout will be hosted by the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

“We are coming back to Singapore to put on one of the greatest fight cards in Asian MMA history,” ONE FC CEO Victor Cui was quoted saying in the official release. “We will finally settle the question of who deserves to be called the top Bantamweight fighter on the planet.  Plus, the fierce MMA darling of Singapore, Sherilyn Lim, will make her ONE FC debut in front of thousands of screaming home fans. We always step it up a notch in Singapore and 18 October will be no different. We are putting together a fight card that will blow away the millions of passionate fight fans all around the world. Thousands of fans in attendance and the millions watching live around the world are set for another evening of world-class MMA action featuring the best in Asia.”

Kim (7-4) will be fighting for the first time since last October, when he stopped Leandro Issa to become the ONE FC bantamweight champion. The South Korean fighter, who has won three straight bouts, has been on the sidelines since with a shoulder injury.

Fernandes (14-3) has won three consecutive fights under the ONE FC, after the decorated jiu-jitsu competitor opted to sign with the Asian based promotion instead of the UFC. The Brazilian fighter scored a unanimous decision win over Koetsu Okazaki in May to become the interim bantamweight champion.

The October 18th card will available in North America via online pay-per-view.
