Ben Askren had little difficulties adding the ONE FC Welterweight Championship to his decorated resume today in Dubai, as the renowned wrestler cruised through Nobutatsu Suzuki.

Askren took the now former champ to the mat in seconds, and from there, he pounded away with punches until the fight was stopped. With the victory, Askren moved his record to 14-0 while Suzuki’s fell to 11-2-2.

Shinya Aoki retained the promotion’s lightweight belt, as the feared submission artist quickly shot in on Kamal Shalorus, and worked his way into a fight ending, rear-naked-choke.

Aoki’s record now stands at 36-6, and with his third defeat in five fights, Shalorus is 9-4-2.

At featherweight, Jadamba Narantungalag laid claim to the ONE FC title, by working his way to a unanimous decision win over Koiji Oishi. Narantungalag improved his record to 10-3 with the championship win, and Oishi’s fell to 25-10-10 with the defeat.

“Reign of Champions” also featured the return of UFC vet Roger Huerta, who was fighting for the first time since 2012. The lightweight handed Christian Holley his first pro defeat, by stopping him with a brutal series of knees and punches from the top position.

Huerta ended a four fight, losing skid with the win, and extended his record to 22-7-1. Holley’s record now sits at 10-1.

UFC vet James McSweeney also scored a win in Dubai, by flooring Cristiano Kaminishi with a punch and knocking him out with a soccer kick to the head. McSweeney moved his record to 14-11, and Kaminishi saw his fall to 8-2.
