Recently ONE FC announced that legendary trainer and former fighter Matt Hume had secured a “senior executive” position with the promotion, and as a result, he would no longer judge or referee fights of the organization.

In a press release sent out today by ONE FC, the Asian based promotion offered more details as to what Hume’s role will now be.

ONE Fighting Championship™ (ONE FC) has announced the appointment of MMA legend Matt Hume as Vice President of Operations and Competition. Hume’s primary responsibilities include matchmaking and talent recruitment, managing standards in rules and regulations, and guardian of ONE FC’s first-class show experience. Prior to joining ONE FC, Matt Hume served as a world class trainer, promoter, sanctioning body president, referee, event judge, rule director, matchmaker, television commentator and author. Hume earned respect in and outside of the cage for his MMA skills as a fighter as well as his understanding of the MMA business.
