A rematch between “Shogun” Rua and Ovince Saint Preux failed to materialize this past weekend as planned, but if the UFC wants to rebook the bout, the latter’s open to it.

OPS and Rua were scheduled to fight in the main event of UFC Fight Night 117 in Japan, but “Shogun” had to pull out due to a knee injury. The two fought in 2014 and Saint Preux quickly finished the legendary fighter.

Following Saint Preux’s quick, technical submission win over Yushin Okami on Friday, the light-heavyweight contender had this to say about his next bout (quote via MMA Junkie):

“I definitely came here to fight ‘Shogun’ and definitely want to fight ‘Shogun,’” Saint Preux said. “But whoever’s ahead of me right now.”

“I have two losses I think about, to Volkan (Oezdemir) and Jimmy (Manuwa),” Saint Preux added. “Definitely I’d love to have those back. So whatever the UFC wants to do from here.”

With the win this past weekend, Saint Preux moved his overall record to 21-10.
