Pat Healy Fighting Jim Miller in Octagon Return April 27th

Pat Healy

Former Stirkeforce lightweight contender Pat Healy will face a stiff test in his upcoming Octagon return, as the veteran will battle the top ranked Jim Miller, April 27th at UFC 159. The bout will be hosted by the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Healy (29-16) worked his way to a title shot with Strikeforce, by winning six straight fights with the promotion, before it shut down operations earlier this month. Healy was tapped to fight Strikeforce champ Gilbert Melendez, but the latter was unable to compete due to a shoulder injury.

Most recently, the Team Quest fighter scored a unanimous decision win over Kurt Holobaugh on January 12th. Healy competed as a welterweight in the UFC in 2006, but was submitted by Anthony Torres.

Miller (22-4) is also coming off a win, as the perennial contender worked his way to an impressive, unanimous decision victory over Joe Lauzon in December. The bout returned Miller to the winner’s column after the New Jersey fighter was submitted by Nate Diaz last May.

UFC 159 will be headlined by a light-heavyweight bout between champion Jon Jones and former middleweight contender Chael Sonnen.
