Patrick Cote Says He’s Fighting “2 Time UFC Vet” at Instinct MMA Debut

By FCF Staff

Patrick Cote will look to take his next step back to the UFC in October when he fights on the debut card of Instinct MMA in Montreal, Quebec. The new promotion is the latest project from Stephane Patry, who for years was the driving force and CEO of the now defunct TKO promotion, which helped build the careers of notable Canadian fighters like Georges St. Pierre, Mark Hominick, Sam Stout, and Cote amongst many others.

While Cote would not confirm who he is facing on Instinct’s first card, as the promotion is reportedly holding a press conference next Wednesday to announce details about the event, the middleweight did inform FCF that he is fighting a two time UFC vet.

Cote also added that he has signed a one fight deal with Instinct, which according to a recent report from Fight World, has also added Steve Bosse, Derek Gauthier, Dimitri Waardenburg, Yan Pellerin, Syd Barnier, Shawn Davidson, Montreal pro boxer Eric Barrack and others to its roster.

Since being released from the UFC last year, following a unanimous decision loss to Tom Lawlor in October, Cote (15-7) has worked his way to UD victories over Kalib Starnes and Todd Brown while fighting for Ringside MMA.

The 31 year-old-fighter has gone 2-2 since he injured his knee while challenging UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva in October, 2008.
