Video: Paul Daley Records Flying Knee KO at Cage Contender 16

By FCF Staff

While much of the MMA world was focused on Anaheim, California, Saturday night and the UFC’s historic bout between Ronda Rousey and Liz Carmouche, Octagon vet Paul Daley was busy competing in Dublin, Ireland.

The feared striker took on Patrick Vallee, and in the second round, Daley stopped the veteran with a flying knee to improve his record to 31-12-2. The bout marked the first time Daley has fought since last June, when he took out Rudy Bears in the first round at Bellator 72.

The British fighter was expected to compete for Bellator in its first season on SPIKE; however, visa issues have delayed Delay from fighting in the U.S. any further. Daley has stated that he hopes to have the problems resolved in the coming months.

With Saturday’s win, Daley has gone 4-1 in his last five bouts, with his only loss during that stretch coming via split decision to Kazuo Misaki at a Strikeforce event last March.
