Paulo Thiago vs. Michel Prazeres Confirmed For UFC on FX 8
By FCF Staff
With Lance Benoist no longer able to fight Paulo Thiago as scheduled due to injury, the promotion has announced that undefeated newcomer Michael Prazeres will battle Thiago on May 18th. The bout will be part of the UFC on FX 8 card, which will be hosted by Jaragua Do Sul, Brazil.
Thiago (14-5) will be looking to end a two fight losing skid, as the Brazilian welterweight is coming off a decision loss to Dong Hyun Kim and a KO defeat versus Siyar Bahadurzada. Thiago has gone 1-4 in his last five bouts, with his only win during that stretch coming via unanimous decision over David Mitchell.
Prazeres (16-0) will make his Octagon debut having gone undefeated since he turned pro in 2000. The Brazilian vet competed for Shooto and Jungle Fight in 2012 and is coming off a UD victory over Leandro Silva.
UFC on FX 8 will be headlined by a middleweight bout between Vitor Belfort and former Strikeforce champ Luke Rockhold.
