A bout between established veterans Pedro Rizzo and Tim Sylvia will not take place at Pro Elite’s upcoming November 5th event in Moline, ll., as Rizzo is reporting today that an injury has forced his withdrawal from the card.

Speaking via his official Twitter account, Rizzo stated:

“So i would like to apologize to the Pro Elite and specially to Tim Sylvia because i can’t be in the ring on November 5th to face him.”

“Unfortunately I got injured, training here in Holland, had a partial tear in the triceps’ tendon of my left arm.”

Rizzo (19-9) has won three straight bouts, scoring wins over Jeff Monson, Gary Goodridge and most recently Ken Shamrock, who the Brazilian stopped while competing in Australia last July.

I hope to recover as quickly as possible to get back! Because my happiness is still in the ring! OSSs!

I think i am in the prime of my condition and i’m really very frustrated with what happened.

Sylvia (29-7) is coming off a TKO stoppage of Patrick Barrentine in August, after losing by TKO to Abe Wagner at Titan FC 16 in January.

Pro Elite could not be immediately reached for comment regarding Rizzo’s reported injury and whether a replacement for the heavyweight is being sought.

The upcoming November 5th Pro Elite card will be hosted by Moline’s i Wireless Center and will feature former UFC champion Andrei Arlovski taking on journeyman Travis Fulton.
