WEC HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION AARON BRINK SETS TO "RUMBLE UNDER THE SUN" WITH JEREMY HORN THIS SATURDAY

UNCASVILLE, CONNECTICUT (August 25, 2002) – From the beautiful woodland oasis of the Mohegan Sun Casino and Resort, World Extreme Cagefighting is proud to bring its fourth highly-anticipated event to the eastern seaboard this August 31st. With a blend of Native American culture and East coast hospitality, "Rumble Under The Sun" will host ten exciting mixed martial arts match-ups for the audience’s approval. With nine of those bouts hosting some of the East and West’s most promising up-and-comers, only one side can be victorious in the war for coastal supremacy. Will it be the Eastern warriors, represented by the top schools of Team Renzo Gracie and Pedro Sauer Jiu-Jitsu, among others? Or will the Western gladiators edge out the competiton with its force of American Kickboxing Academy, RAW, and Next Generation delegates? With the inevitable clash of fighting styles, which coast will come out on top?

In a main event Title bout, two of today’s most experienced heavyweight fighters will battle it out for the respect of the fans. Jeremy Horn, representing the famed Miletich Martial Arts fighting team, is set to clash with Aaron Brink. Coming off of a decisive win against world-class striker Gilbert Yvel in Pride, Horn’s one hundred plus fight record boasts some of the slickest ground work in the sport to date. Aaron Brink, representing Tito Ortiz’s Team Punishment, is also coming off a devastatingly impressive win. In a recent WFA, Brink went toe-to-toe with RINGS’ and Pride’s veteran superstar Valentijn Overeem and broke Overeem’s spirit with a flurry of punches that lead to a ref stoppage. At this week’s WEC event, will Horn take it to the ground and quickly dethrone the WEC Heavyweight Champion or will Brink slug it out and show Horn that his throne is not yet up for grabs? Either way, this match promises to be explosive and one not to be missed this Labor Day weekend!

Come join today’s MMA superstars such as: Renzo Gracie, Frank Shamrock, Tito Ortiz, Chuck Liddell, Ricardo Almeida and Sean Alvarez – just to name a few – and participate in what is destined to be a memorable night of extreme cagefighting action! Remember, this show will settle the debates and award bragging rights to the best fighting Coast. It’s the East Coast vs. the West Coast. Don’t miss it!
