Pro Boxer, Chris van Heerden, Apologizes After Criticizing Editing of Sparring Footage With Conor McGregor
By FCF Staff
Former IBO and IBF boxing champ Chris van Heerden, has apologized for criticizing how footage of a sparring session he recently had with Conor McGregor was edited.
In May, van Heerden credited McGregor for his boxing, but claimed he had controlled “every round”. The South African also said he has video of the sparring that would “shock everyone”. More recently, however, McGregor’s camp posted footage of him sparring with van Heerden, and the clips that were shown showcased the Irish star doing quite well.
After the video below went out, van Heerden reportedly took to Twitter and accused McGregor and his team of editing together footage to make the UFC champ “look good”. Since then, however, van Heerden has since apologized for the comments.
