Quote of the Day: Jake Shields Tells Johny Hendricks to “Quit Crying…It’s Cool You Beat My Old Punching Bags at AKA”
Hendricks Starts Twitter Campaign Due to Pending Title Shot for Nick Diaz

After UFC President Dana White relayed yesterday that welterweight champ Georges St. Pierre has apparently asked to fight Nick Diaz next, and that the promotion will likely go ahead with the bout, Johny Hendricks has taken to Twitter to voice his disapproval.
The powerful fighter, who is coming off a prompt, first round knockout of Martin Kampmann last month in what was supposed to determine the number one contender, posted:
Asking all fans to let Dana White know you don’t agree! GSP says he wants Diaz next. @DanaWhite says “that’s probably the fight we’ll make”
I don’t really know what to say but please @danawhite give me a shot @GeorgesStPierre if u want a fight I will give him anything he can take
Nick Diaz’s longtime teammate and former contender Jake Shields then reportedly posted (quote via Bloody Elbow.com as original tweet is no longer up):
@JohnyHendricks quit crying. Nicks done more than you. Its cool you beat my old punching bags at AKA but I think you need to fight me next.
White has said that the UFC will attempt to honor GSP’s request due to what the decorated fighter has done for the promotion. Of course, a St. Pierre-Diaz bout would likely be a huge draw, due to Diaz’s extensive resume and polarizing behaviour.
St. Pierre and Diaz were scheduled to fight last October, however, Diaz failed to attend two pre-fight press conferences and was pulled from the fight. St. Pierre injured his knee not long after and didn’t return until last month, when he defeated Carlos Condit by unanimous decision.
