By FCF Staff

Shortly after he was handed a ninth-month suspension by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) as a penalty for testing positive for a steroid after his win over Lorenz Larkin on Jan. 7, former Strikeforce light heavyweight (205 pounds) champion “King Mo” Lawal lashed out at the governing body on Twitter.

“I shoulda stayed home! Lol. NSAC had they mind made up b4 we got there! Lol. All the research we did and disclosed to em! They ignored! LOL.

I honestly feel like Lundvall was a racist bitch asking me if I can read or speak english. Go on somewhere with that bullshit bitch!!!

Lundvall….I’m college educated. Get your mind right!”

Lawal was referring to NSAC chairperson Pat Lundvall.

According to multiple reports following Lawal’s Twitter outburst, Strikeforce has decided to release the former champion from the promotion.

Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker confirmed in a statement to MMA Weekly that Lawal has been released from his contract: “Following the outcome of today’s hearing with the Nevada State Athletic Commission and his subsequent reaction.”
