Rafael dos Anjos Announces Return to Welterweight

After losing consecutive fights to Eddie Alvarez and Tony Ferguson, Rafael dos Anjos has announced that he’s leaving the lightweight division to compete at 170 pounds once again.
Dos Anjos (25-9) won the UFC’s lightweight title in March, 2015, by outscoring Anthony Pettis for the decision win. After quickly finishing Donald Cerrone in his first title defense that December, however, RDA was stopped by Alvarez last summer. Most recently, he lost via UD to Ferguson in November,
On Friday, dos Anjos announced he’s going to fight at welterweight moving forward, by linking to an interview he did with Combate on Twitter:
