Khabib Nurmagomedov is the last man to defeat Rafael dos Anjos, and has yet to lose in 23 fights, but the lightweight champ doesn’t believe he should fight for the title next.

Nurmagomedov worked his way to decision win over dos Anjos in 2014. But, follow up injuries forced “The Eagle” to the sidelines, and RDA went on to win the UFC’s 155 title. Nurmagomedov finally returned to action this past April, and stopped Darrell Horcher, who was a late replacement for the injured Tony Ferguson.

Recently RDA spoke with MMA Junkie.com, and while discussing the title shot aspirations of Nurmagomedov, he stated this:

“His last fight was against a guy with a full-time job, and I beat Diaz, Pettis, Ben Henderson, Cerrone, and I earned it,” dos Anjos said. “I earned my title.
“You can’t just beat a guy that went there just to cover some guy that got an injury and then this guy, after two-and-a-half years, get a title shot.”

In the meantime, dos Anjos is booked to fight former Bellator champ Eddie Alvarez at UFC FN 90 on July 7th.
