Following the UFC’s decision to fire Jacob “Stitch” Duran, and the subsequent fall out, Reebok has released a statement to distance itself from the situation.

Recently Duran announced that he had been fired by the UFC, after the iconic cutman raised concerns about the promotion’s uniform deal with Reebok. Since Duran and other cutmen are prohibited from wearing sponsors, and aren’t being compensated in the Reebok deal, the combat sports vet relayed he may have to take more work outside the UFC.

Duran was subsequently let go by the company, and since then, many fans and industry figures have expressed their anger about the decision.

Recently, Reebok released the following statement on Twitter:

The uniform deal became active earlier this month, and as a result of it, fighters are prohibited from wearing other sponsors during fight week.
