Renzo Gracie Says Georges St-Pierre is “Coming Back For Sure”

Georges St-Pierre

Georges St-Pierre’s head coach Firas Zahabi believes the former champ will return to the Octagon, and now the star’s jiu-jitsu coach, Renzo Gracie, is relaying the same opinion.

In recent weeks, there’s been plenty of talk, in terms of whether GSP will finally announce he’s returning to the UFC. The welterweight has been training again, and with UFC 200 right around the corner, many believe the Canadian might be interested in competing at the historic card. GSP, however, has admitted he’s been thinking about fighting again, but hasn’t said he will.

Recently Gracie appeared on “The MMA Hour”, and while discussing St-Pierre, the legend stated (quote via MMA Fighting.com):

“He’s [St-Pierre is] coming back for sure,” Gracie said. “That boy, the best thing he does in life is fighting. Look for how long he’s been a champion…”

“A champion is not just born. He’s forged into it. And Georges has all the tools to become champion again, and for sure, he’s now 100 percent healthy. I saw him, he’s in unbelievable shape, and for sure he will be announcing soon to be back in the game.”

The 34 year-old St-Pierre hasn’t fought since 2013 when he earned a split decision win over Johny Hendricks.
