Report: “Cyborg” Santos Says Move to 135 Pounds Possible, Negotiating With UFC
Former Strikeforce featherweight champ Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos has reportedly revealed that a move to 135 pounds is in fact possible, after her camp previously dismissed the idea that she could compete at bantamweight.
After denying a report that she is set to fight Strikeforce bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey at UFC 157, Santos has reportedly relayed to MMA Junkie that a drop to bantamweight is possible if she has enough time.
Santos (10-1) also confirmed that negotiations for a bout with Rousey are underway with the UFC.
The renowned fighter will serve out a one year suspension from the California State Athletic Commission on December 17th, after failing her post-fight drug test following a bout with Hiroko Yamanaka nearly one year ago.
