One day removed from the news that UFC 153 will no longer feature featherweight champion Jose Aldo or “Rampage” Jackson due to injuries, reports have surfaced saying that Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Dave Herman have agreed to fight on the card.

The bout, which would take place October 13th in Rio de Janeiro, was first reported by Tatame.com’s Guilherme Cruz.

The 36 year-old Nogueira (33-7) has yet to compete since last December, when he suffered a broken arm in his submission loss to Frank Mir. The former PRIDE champion has relayed that he’s ready to fight again, after he was forced to withdraw from a July bout with Cheick Kongo.

Herman (21-4) will be looking to rebound from back-to-back stoppage losses he suffered against Stefan Struve and most recently Roy Nelson. Prior to the defeats the 27 year-old Herman TKO’d Jon Olav Einemo at UFC 131 last June.
