Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira have reportedly agreed to fight again, and could battle for a second time, nearly eight years after the two fought at a PRIDE event in June, 2005.

According to an initial report from Brazilian publication Lancenet.com, and a follow up story from Tatame.com, the decorated fighters have agreed to fight sometime this summer. Although no date has been confirmed June is reportedly a possibility.

The 31 year-old Rua (21-7) is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Alexander Gustafsson in December, while the 36 year-old Nogueira (21-5) scored a UD win over Rashad Evans last month at UFC 156.

In their first meeting in 2005, Rua worked his way to a unanimous decision win over Nogueira.

In addition, according to a tweet from Sportsnet MMA analyst, Joe Ferraro, the UFC will head to Winnipeg, Manitoba, on June 15th to host its first event in the Canadian city.

In a follow up report from the network, it mentioned that Rua vs. Nogueira and Tyron Woodley versus Jake Shields are rumored to be possibilities for the card.

The UFC 161 card will be hosted by Winnipeg’s MTS Centre, which is home to the city’s NHL hockey team, the Winnipeg Jets.
