Anderson Silva may be training again, and is booked to fight Nick Diaz, but the legend says he’s still battling the horrific memories of what happened at UFC 168.

Silva recently spoke with Brazil’s “Fantastico“, and while discussing the broken leg he incurred versus Chris Weidman, he stated (quote via MMA Fighting.com):

“I’ve worked with a psychologist so I can get rid of the ghosts of those horrible moments of that fight, when I had that accident,” Silva said. “I’m a little apprehensive in training. I know I can execute the movement, but I end up not doing it for fear.”

“Yeah, I won’t get hurt. I know I won’t get hurt, but fear is natural,” the former champ added. “I don’t want to feel that pain ever again. No way.”

Silva also relayed in the interview that he’s “over this thing of being champion” and that he does not plan to fight for the belt.

The 39 year-old fighter will battle Diaz at UFC 183 on January 31st, which will take place at a venue to be determined in Las Vegas.
