Bellator held one of its “tentpole” events on Friday, and it the card reportedly delivered more viewers than UFC Fight Night 77 did on Saturday.

Bellator 145 took place in St. Louis on November 6th, and the event featured lightweight and featherweight championship fights, as well as former pro-wrestling Bobby Lashley. According to a report from MMA Fighting.com, Friday’s card averaged 814,000 viewers for Spike.

UFC FN 77, meanwhile, aired on FOX Sports 1 the day after, and it reportedly averaged 757,000 viewers. The Sau Paulo card was headlined by a rubber match between Dan Henderson and Vitor Belfort. The latter won the bout via first round stoppage.

Bellator 145 saw Daniel Straus decision Patricio “Pitbull” to take the featherweight belt, and lightweight champ Will Brooks defended his title by earning a UD win over Marcin Held. Lashley, meanwhile, quickly took out James Thompson.

As the aforementioned reported states, it should be noted that UFC FN 77 faced much stiffer competition in terms of other sporting events, since it took place on Saturday. In addition, Spike is available in more homes than FOX Sports 1.
