According to reports, former UFC champion BJ Penn was arrested this weekend in Maui, following an alleged incident outside an hotel.

Maui Watch was the first to relay the news, as the outlet has posted a police report, which says Penn was involved in a “physical altercation” Saturday night.  The other individual was reportedly sent to hospital but was treated and released.

The aforementioned report says that witnesses claim Penn was “inebriated”. Bloody Elbow.com is also reporting that Maui authorities have confirmed Penn’s arrest.

The decorated fighter has reportedly been released and an investigation is pending.

The 36 year-old Penn announced he was retiring from fighting last July, following a one sided, stoppage loss to BJ Penn.
