Report: BJ Penn Out of UFC FN 97 Headliner

UFC Fight Night 97 has lost it’s original headliner, as according to a report, BJ Penn has withdrawn from the October 15th card due to injury.
Penn is scheduled to face Ricardo Lamas at the upcoming event, which will take place in Manila, Philippines. According to a report from MMA Junkie.com, however, a source has told the outlet that Penn has incurred an injury and cannot compete. The UFC has not made any announcement regarding Penn’s status.
The former lightweight and welterweight champ hasn’t fought now since 2014, when Penn was stopped by Frankie Edgar.
