Report: Brendan Schaub, Lavar Johnson Bout Set for UFC 157
By FCF Staff
Lavar Johnson and Brendan Schaub will still reportedly fight each other next, after their UFC on FOX 5 bout this weekend was cancelled due to the former being injured. Johnson withdrew from the fight due to an injured groin, and because of the short notice, no replacement could be found.
Now the two will look to UFC 157 on February 23rd in Anaheim, California as the new fight date, according to a report from MMA Junkie.
The UFC has not made any official announcement regarding the reported bout.
Schaub (8-3) is coming off back-to-back knockout losses to Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Ben Rothwell after winning four straight.
Johnson (17-6) is coming off a submission loss to Stefan Struve in May after scoring stoppage wins over Pat Barry and Joey Beltran.
UFC 157 will be hosted by Anaheim’s Honda Center and will feature UFC women’s bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey versus Liz Carmouche in the main event.
