(Updated) Report: Brock Lesnar in Advanced Talks to Fight at UFC 200

Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar

By FCF Staff

Brock Lesnar announced last year that his fighting days were over, but according to a new report, the pro-wrestling star’s in advanced talks to compete at UFC 200.

Lesnar has not fought since 2011 when he was stopped by Alistair Overeem, but MMA Fighting.com is reporting he’s close to finalizing a deal, which would see him fight at UFC 200. No information regarding who Lesnar might fight has been disclosed.

The 38 year-old Lesnar won the UFC’s heavyweight title in 2008, but lost the title to Cain Velasquez in 2010.

After battling diverticulitis, and following his loss to Overeem, Lesnar retired from MMA. Last year the wrestler was in talks with the UFC to return to the Octagon, but Lesnar elected to resign with the WWE.

UFC 200 will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

(Update: the UFC confirmed during the UFC 199 PPV that Lesnar will fight at the July 9th event. The former champ’s opponent has yet to be determined).
