Report: Chael Sonnen to Comply With NSAC Resolution, Accepts Responsibility for Failing Drug Tests

Chael Sonnen

By FCF Staff

After failing two random drug tests, leading into a scheduled bout at UFC 175, Chael Sonnen has no plans to challenge any disciplinary action that the Nevada State Athletic Commission hands out.

Sonnen’s lawyer has informed the NSAC that the retired fighter “accepts responsibility for his actions”, and does not dispute any of allegations against him, according to a report from MMA Junkie.com.

Sonnen is facing fines and a suspension after he recently tested positive for the banned substances anastrozole, clomiphene, human growth hormone (HGH) and recombinant human erythropoietin (EPO).

The 37 year-old fighter has claimed he was taking the substances to help him transition off testosterone-replacement-therapy, which was banned by the NSAC earlier this year.

The UFC and FOX recently announced that the outspoken fighter was being released from his commentating duties with the companies.
