By FCF Staff

The upcoming, July 21st, UFC 149 card in Calgary, Alberta will feature another Canadian fighter, as Toronto’s Claude Patrick will reportedly fight Oklahoma City’s James Head.

The welterweight bout was reported by the Canadian television network Sportsnet. According to the report, the UFC has relayed to the network that verbal agreements are in place for the fight.

Patrick (14-2) is coming off a split decision loss to Brian Ebersole at UFC 140 last December, after scoring wins over Ricardo Funch, James Wilks, and Daniel Roberts in his other Octagon appearances.

Head (8-2) is coming off a first round, submission win over Papy Abedi in April, after he was tapped out by Nick Ring at UFC 131 last June.

UFC 149, which will be hosted by Calgary’s Scotiabank Saddledome, will feature a featherweight bout between champion Jose Aldo and Erik Koch in the main event.

With the addition of Patrick, there are currently six Canadians scheduled to compete at UFC 149, including Mitch Clarke, Ryan Jimmo, Mitch Gagnon, Antonio Carvalho and the aforementioned Ring.
