Report: Conor McGregor is Predicting Jose Aldo “Will be Done” in Four Minutes
By FCF Staff
It remains to be seen if the injured Jose Aldo will in fact still fight Conor McGregor on July 11th, but if he does, the latter is predicting he’ll stop the featherweight champ, and do so pretty quickly.
McGregor recently appeared on ESPN’s SportsCenter to promote his UFC 189 bout with Aldo, and while doing so, the brash fighter said this (quote via MMA Junkie.com):
“I always make accurate predictions,” McGregor said. “I have predicted many contests. I have my entire career. I predict the future. For me, I have already predicted this contest. At four minutes of the first round he will be KO’ed. I feel that the power matched with the precision, he will not be able to take it. Four minutes he will be done.”
The Irish featherweight predicted first round, stoppage wins over Diego Brandao and Dustin Poirier, and that happened. McGregor also made the same call for his January fight with Dennis Siver, however in that case, the latter made it into the second round.
Last week, it was revealed that Aldo injured his ribs while training, and as a result, Chad Mendes will face McGregor for an interim title, if the renowned fighter withdraws. Recently Aldo’s teammate, Jonas Bilharinho, reported that the champion will train today and will assess his condition.
UFC 189 will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
