Everyone understood that Jose Aldo was losing out on a very significant pay day when he was forced to pull out of UFC 189, and now Dana White has revealed just how big.

The featherweight champ elected to pull out of his July 11th bout with Conor McGregor, after fracturing his rib while training. After Aldo withdrew, the renowned fighter said that his legacy means more to him than money.

Recently, White appeared on ESPN Radio’s The Rusillo Show, and while doing so, he relayed the following (quote via MMA Mania.com):

“It’s crazy because I actually saw the video,” White said, while referring to the sparring incident which injured Aldo. “He gets hit with a spinning-heel kick, which is crazy in itself that anyone is even throwing that at him two weeks before his fight. It is what it is. He stood to make a lot of money, a lot of money. If he could’ve fought, he would’ve fought.”

“Millions of dollars,” White said, after the host questioned whether around four million dollars is the amount Aldo’s lost out on. “Yeah, he probably would’ve made close to four million.”

Chad Mendes has been brought into face McGregor on Saturday night. The bout will determine the UFC’s interim featherweight champion.

UFC 189 will be hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
